Dr. JiWo Choi is a nurse scientist and Associate Professor in the Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences (SBS) and the Institute for Health & Aging (IHA) in the School of Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Her research program focuses on promoting brain health by supporting healthy lifestyle modification (e.g., regular physical activity, good sleep hygiene) and preventing health disparities among the vulnerable population at risk for chronic diseases. The target populations include family caregivers of persons living with dementia (PLWDs), racial/ethnic minority women (i.e., Korean immigrants), overweight/obese women (i.e., physically inactive pregnant women and women with young children), Korean American smokers and their partners and middle-aged Korean women at risk for metabolic syndrome.
